Meet Our School Dog - Indie

We are very excited to introduce you to a very important and much loved member of staff at Mile Oak Primary School.

Indie was born on 12th May 2020. She is a Cocker Spaniel who is a school dog and is an integral part of our school community. Indie provides a calming influence across the school and will check in with the children throughout the day. 

Numerous research studies have shown the benefits of therapy dogs in schools and many schools are introducing them to their workforce. Some of the benefits are: 

• The development of social skills
• Improved emotional wellbeing for children and staff 
• Increased confidence in reading aloud
